About
Arestis is a workout log and progress tracking app, built in France by a single person. Here is who, and why.
Who I am
My name is Enrique, I'm 21 and I've been training since the summer of 2021. Classic strength training, nothing exotic.
I'm not a coach or a strength and conditioning specialist. I go to the gym, and I write code.
Where Arestis comes from
For years, my workouts lived in an Excel file. Session name, exercises, sets, reps, weights. One column per thing, one row per set. It did the job.
Then the file grew. Finding what I had benched three months earlier turned into an expedition. No charts, no overview, just rows piling up. At some point, a spreadsheet can't keep up.
So I looked for an app. I tried Hevy and Overload. They're good tools, honestly. But none of them quite fit: too cluttered here, stats behind a subscription there, or a history that shrinks after a few months.
In May 2026, I stopped looking and started building my own.
The idea fit in two lines: log a session quickly between sets, and be able to look at your progress over time without hitting a wall.
Where I want to take it
For now, it's the app I use every session, and that I share. In the long run, I want to turn it into something serious, used by a lot of people.
In practice, that means it changes often, and that I really read feedback. Most of what I've added in recent months came from someone telling me “that would be nice”.
One principle: no ads
Arestis shows no ads and never will. No trackers either, no audience measurement tools, and your data isn't sent to anyone. You can export it whenever you want, as JSON or CSV.
Where the project stands
The app is in beta on iPhone and Android. It moves fast: I ship updates roughly every week.
What I'm working on right now:
- Launching on the App Store and Google PlayStore reviews take a long time. It's underway.
- Rebuilding the web versionThe old one is paused. I'm rebuilding it from scratch on the same foundation as the mobile app.
- A social sideFollowing your training partners, sharing your sessions.
- And a long listThat changes based on what people ask for.
Come talk to me
A bug, an idea, something in the app that bugs you: tell me. I read everything, and I reply.
